DIY Character Inspired Easter Basket

With Spring here and Easter coming up in just over a week (April 1st), it gave me the perfect excuse to wear all the pastels and to bring you guys a fun, festive DIY that is perfect to do with or for your kids/ friends as a sweet surprise! I love any excuse for a good theme, so I wanted to put together a little basket (and outfit) inspired by one of my favorite characters: Daisy Duck! Her pastel pink and purple color scheme makes this a dream to do. I used her color palette for inspiration and picked out little goodies that fit her personality so I encourage you all to pick your own favorite character or a loved one's favorite and get creative when creating one of these yourself!

Here's what you'll need:

-Ribbon (your color preference)

-Basket Filler

-Plastic Eggs

-Hot glue gun

Since I was basing mine on Daisy, my color choices reflect that, so definitely pick whatever colors best fit your character of choice!

I wanted to keep this cost efficient, so I didn't get too fancy with the decoration of the basket. I liked just filling my basket with the filler and then simply tying the ribbon on the handle. I chose pink for this to be like Daisy's bow! I also just cut little triangles at the ends of the bows to give it a more finished look! To nod to her purple top, I tied purple ribbon around the basket itself and just hot glued in a few places to keep the ribbon in place!

When it came to filling the basket, I really wanted to incorporate more than just candy, so I got some little things that were girly and just so perfectly Daisy! I included things for pampering like sheet masks, lotion, and nail polish all the way to fashion accessories that would add the perfect touch of pastel sass to your spring outfits! The rose gold sunglasses with little daisies on them were too perfect! If you're giving this as a gift, this is a perfect way to show you know someone and really pick out things that fit their interests and personality! This basket is definitely for the girly-girl in your life, but there's so many ways to cater to who you would be making one for!

All that's left to do is arrange your goodies in the basket and fill your eggs with yummy treats! Your basket made-with-love is ready to be gifted!

By now you guys know I could't stop with the basket and that I HAD to create a Spring outfit that channeled Daisy as well! When I saw this purple pastel dress, I knew this was the perfect Easter dress! It paired perfectly with my BIG bow headband (Daisy approved), glitter Keds, and for the occasion of meeting the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Bunny for the first time ever, I threw on my White Rabbit purse as well!

Since this is my first Easter as a local, and just first Easter being at the parks in general, I wanted to make sure I got to meet these fluffy legends! They absolutely loved my color coordinated outfit, accessories, and my DIY basket SO much! Just look at their cute, little, surprised faces! (Cue the happy tears!!) Meeting them was a bucket-list adventure achieved! I'll have to stop and see them again before they leave until next Spring!

I plan on experiencing a few more special Easter offerings with some friends this coming week! I'm really excited to hunt for Easter Eggs around Epcot, look at the special eggs created by artists at the Grand Floridian, and see an Easter parade at Magic Kingdom! So many cute things to experience!

I hope to see you all create some baskets of your own in the coming week! If you do, be sure to tag me in your photos!

Until next time,
