It's that time of year again when things go bump, bump, bump in the night, Main Street, U.S.A. is lined with cheerful Mickey-o-lanters, and all the tricks and treats are to be had! I'm here to recap my night experiencing all the spooktacular Hocus Pocus Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has to offer!
Disney so kindly invited and provided me tickets and food vouchers for this event! All opinions expressed are my own!
Let's get spooky, gals and ghouls!
Mickey's Not-So-Scary kicked off with a BOO this past week and is now running on select nights from now until October 31st! This is a special ticketed event that gives guests access to some unique offerings including special food offerings, entertainment, spooky meet-and-greets, and of course trick-or-treating! Guests are also encouraged to get in the spirit by wearing fun costumes! It's a treat for sure and fun for all!
There's really so much to experience at this party, but I want to share with you my favorites from my evening there!
If you're looking for just treats, I suggest the Maleficent Treat from Storybook Treats in New Fantasyland (right across from Mine Train)! This was something I was DYING to try! Maleficent is my favorite villain! She's so fabulously evil and this treat inspired by her did not disappoint! This lime soft serve presented in a black cone with chocolate horns was so refreshing on the warm night we were having! It's new to the party this year, so I suggest giving it a try!
One thing I always look forward at the parties are the specialty popcorn buckets! I love these not only for holding my favorite go-to snack, but I love that they are keepsakes and reusable for the years to come! If you check out my Jack Skellington inspired outfit, you'll notice I incorporated a Zero popcorn bucket that I've had from a party I attended a couple years back! They don't offer my exact one this year, but fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas can rejoice in the fact that the Disney Parks is offering an Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket that comes with a strap! One of my favorite ways to continue getting use out of these is to use them as purses! It's such a fun novelty to wear and aids in making your outfit a little more festive!
Another addition to the parties this year are some new spins on 3 classic attractions! Pirates of the Caribbean features swashbuckling Gun Powder Pete up to some tricks inside the attraction itself, the Alice in Wonderland Teacups transforms in the night with some help of festive, cooky lighting and music, and Space Mountain has been cast in absolute darkness and is accompanied with a rocking new soundtrack! Space Mountain was a delightfully frightening blast! As someone who felt they knew Space Mountain like the back of their hand, this extra dark ride felt like a completely different experience! It was so cool! Definitely hit it up while you're at the party!
My absolute must-do and forever favorite of the party is the Boo to You parade! The parade happens twice per party and I always recommend seeing the later parade for it's smaller crowd size! Another tip I like to offer is making sure you get a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. about 30-45 minutes before the parade actually starts. I love having a spot where I have a clear, uninterrupted view and this also allows for you to communicate your excitement for the parade with the characters featured in the parade! See my Not-So-Scary highlight on my instagram to see Dr. Facilier charm me with his devilish smile! My favorite part of the parade itself are the Grave Diggers from Haunted Mansion! It's not an understatement when I say that sparks fly when I see them! ;)
If you're looking for more about my time there, don't forget to check out my Highlight on Instagram from the party and you can visit this link here for more information about tickets and other offerings!
I always love this time of year at the Disney Parks for the decor, the atmosphere, and the treats! I'm so excited to share more with you once I try more of the offerings!
Thanks so much to Disney for inviting me to this event!
Until next time...
